COSTA RICA IN PHOTOS
I got the chance to go to Tamarindo, Costa Rica in May for 3 weeks for surfing. While I was there I got the chance to snap some photos. I haven’t had a chance to post these on my blog yet… so here we go!
Hummingbird, unusually still, but only for a second..
Faucet and tiles..
Beautiful Bird of Paradise..
Butterflies kissing…
Arenal Volcano erupting at night… 30 minute long exposure.
The 5 Wise Men…. posts making up a fence with growth starting on them..
A locked gate…
Beach crab hanging out…
Hacienda Pinilla golf course by the sea…
Time for introspection… lonely beach chairs for two.
A turtle by the pond…
Me surfing at Playa Langosta…
Puffer fish during a scuba diving trip… taken with my underwater housing…
The sideways moon…
Timeless ripples in the sand…
A rooster guards his turf..
A horse in front of some fiery-coloured trees..
Playa Avellanas at its finest…

After seeing some of the new ones and the others… I’d say it’d be dangerous if you got an even BETTER camera.
That volcano-exposure pic is my favorite of the bunch, but only narrowly… It looks like daytime, yet it’d never be possible to get the “sun” (I know it’s the moon) and the red glow of lava in the same exposure like that.

Not to be a stick in the mud but.. I haven’t seen bird of paradise look like that.. they usually have blue/purple in them.
And the fence doesn’t have things growing on it.. they are made that way. Called living fences. They put sticks or branches into the fertile soil and then eventually take root and grow into trees
The Dominican Republic is the same way.
As usual though you photography is stunning and I wish one day to go to the places you’ve been!

Your images are brilliant…really nice composition. I just got back from the sun but those shots make me want to go back.
How could you live without the D90? You can always rent DV cameras to start your video training. Just to test the waters…..

Thanks Mike, I love the volcano one as well. It took sooo long to set it up. And it was erupting the entire time… so spooky sitting there at night in the middle of the road/jungle listening to lava loudly bouncing down the face of the volcano.
Thanks Tyler! Maybe it’s not a bird of paradise… I wonder what it is then? And thanks for the info about the fence/trees. Still so cool! Hope you get to travel soon!
UD, thanks! I think you should go surf, you’d likely find lots of beautiful women to take pictures of too
Lovewine, thank ya! I think you need to post some of your pics too. You know what, I can’t live without the D90, even if it is the same as my D80. I think I’m going to do it. I’m going to upgrade. Aaahhh.
Thanks Tauran! Did you like the previous video with the GoPro camera?
Weird that you were there at the same time, where did you stay? I’ll add you on FB.

Ugh, these shots are so gorgeous. So, so, so gorgeous. Great composition. Perfect DOF. Vibrant colours. Love them, love them, love them! The hummingbird, the gate, and the turtle are definitely my favourites.
