THIS POST IS ABOUT FEET
Warning: If you don’t like feet, then don’t read on.
Okay, now that we’re over that, here we go. Last weekend we finally managed to install the shelving for the shoe closet. It fits all our shoes! I really didn’t think it could be done, but after putting all the shoes we own in there, I realized I really don’t have that many shoes for someone who has never thrown away any shoes.
This is my shoe collection (and some of Allan’s shoes) since I was 14. Yep, they are really worn and battered. But I don’t like spending too much money on shoes or clothes (relatively speaking here… I know there are people in the world who can’t even afford one pair of shoes, but this is my tiny opportunity to be a little bit girly and show my useless material possessions). I’ve never really thrown away any shoes. You won’t find any in pristine condition. I should also say that I buy a pair of shoes only about once a year. So I guess the numbers make sense. There are lots of cheap shoes in here, as well as some nicer ones… the people who inhabit this closet include Michael Kors, BCBG, Victoria’s Secret, Lacoste, Paul Smith, and Cole Haan.
Not pictured above: Running shoes, hockey skates, golf shoes, and cleats.
This blue stiletto is one of my favourites. It is completely made in Japan, I purchased it in Tokyo last year when I was there for work. I love the high back of the heel.
These are two of my “go-to” shoes… my Michael Kors boots and pink suede slingbacks.
And yes, avert your eyes… aaaah feet! Toes! Gross! (I personally don’t find feet gross at all)… FEET LINGERIE! I love feet lingerie. I bought several pairs when I was in Japan and now I can’t live without them. They are comfortable, they keep my feet a bit warmer, and my feet slide in much easier to get my shoes on and off quicker. Plus they look kinda cool when you pair them with different coloured shoes. I like to pair the pink feet lingerie with my blue stilettos every once in a while. People make fun of me for them.. but I don’t care! I love them.
And that’s it for now folks. Excuse this narcissistic post for a second, I’ll get back to snowboarding and surfing soon

don’t apologize, you’re totally allowed to talk about shoes and share pictures!

Eeeee! Feet lingerie! Those a terribly cute.
Something funny: I love my feet and so does Mike. They’re tiny and cute and tattooed. BUT they are also a burden as I can’t 1. find any shoes that fit (size 4, sometimes 5) and 2. wear high heels as I have an arch that doesn’t touch the ground. Envious of your lovely collection – especially those blue beauties!

I love shoes!! And I’m very jealous of your shoe closet!
I have so many shoes that I don’t even know what I have.

WTF, feet lingerie? Wierd, interesting but weird! lol
Guess foot models can have more work now too huh?

Those blue ones must make you feel real special when you wear them to a Canucks’ game.

Do those socks come with some sort of glue or do they magically stay on your feet?
Explanation needed on how they don’t ride right off your foot while walking.

I love this post!! of course i am a shoe fiend: a woman can’t have too many pairs of shoes. I think everytime I go overseas to asia I must bring back at least 3 pairs (ok more like 7 pairs) and we are constantly running out of shoe closet space. Love the blue pumps!

It’s your blog – post whatever you want!
You should be thankful and proud of your normal looking feet… Not all of us can show ours off – I keep mine hidden from the light of day due to Man-foot-itis.

Forgive me for my caveman approach.
Whenever I see such high heeled pointy stilettos, I think of bruised angles and sore toes, though they’r indeed very sexy.
But baseline is, as long as it makes you happy
Besides, I wonder where in the evolution that women got this “shoe shopping genemutation”, I don’t see any of my friends having a shoe fetish.

I LOVE the feet lingerie!!! So cute

Another person that hearts the feet lingerie! Did you get them from Mighty Soxer (I got a couple when I went a few years ago for TGS)? Have you been able to find them anywhere online?

I love the blue heels sooooooo much!

I didn’t know about feet lingerie… interesting.
I have way too much shoes for being a guy. Other than the usual dress shoes and snickers, I have 3 pair of hiking shoes (2 for summer, 1 for winter). I’ll have to get another pair of hiking shoes this spring since the 2 summer hiking shoes are pretty trashed.

Sandy, thanks
I do feel self conscious talking about girlie things, but it is a nice change. Commitment phobia about boots! LOL! I know you’ll be able to find some nice ones.
Lindsay, haha yeah they’re kinda weird but nice once you start using them
That’s awesome you guys both love feet. Allan does NOT like feet at all and it makes things a little funny sometimes since I don’t mind feet!
Wow your shoe size is TINY! No wonder you have a hard time. But they must look awesome once you find ones that fit. Everyone envies small feet. And in-soles are definitely the way to go for arches
Amy, awww yay thanks! You have lots of shoes? You should wear them more!!!!!!!!
Kimm, I own sooo many flip flops too. I have to admit I live in them, especially in the summer I wear them 24/7 even at work
Tyler, haha yeah it is pretty strange… but unless you’re a girl it is kinda hard to understand
Beer N Hockey, haha I’ve never worn those to a game, that would sure be crazy
jamie, they stay on me feet. I don’t know how
They are just snug fitting I guess!
Liv, haha thanks! I wish I had more time to shop in Asia in places other than Japan (so expensive!). I wish I was going to Hong Kong like you!
Mike, haha, I think everyone has a foot complex, I don’t feel quite comfortable with mine out there in plain daylight either, but I didn’t know how else to show the feet lingerie haha
HexHammer, yeah stilettos aren’t the most comfortable thing, but they definitely make an outift look better. I can run in mine though, I’m pretty comfortable with high heels now.
Michelle, thanks so much!
Kimi, I can’t remember where I got them from. They were everywhere in Tokyo, I just got them at a random store. Do you know anywhere to get them in Vancouver? I should look online, you’re right!
Emma, thanks! I love them too
Tawcan, haha… nothing wrong with having lots of shoes. I find especially with men that the shoes can make or break the outfit
Hiking shoes sound key, esp. for everything that you do
