“GENTLEMEN, START… YOUR… LEGS!”

You’ll have to watch the video to find out what I mean.

So I finally had a chance to do some video editing this weekend. I’ve put together the footage from the Mount Washington snowboarding trip to Courtenay on Vancouver Island in February, as well as the huge Big White bus trip to Kelowna.

Check out the video above! Video features… tree runs, powder runs, rails, jumps, and lots of silliness of course. Oh, and leg wrestling. Make sure you watch to the very end of the video :) Video is totally safe for work.

Here are also a few pictures from the two trips…

Big White view from the chairlift

Big White was great… here’s a view from the chairlift.

Our huge bus trip to Big White!

We had a huge group together (54 people)… it was definitely crazy.

Big White Group

Yup, it was Big White-out for a few moments that weekend.

Telus Park at Big White

The Telus Park at Big White was awesome… boarder cross, rails, jumps and tons of everything.

Adrian poses it up at Big White

My friend Adrian (above) and Chris made it up from San Francisco. They are two of my good friends from university and it was wonderful to see them again.

Hot Tub at Big White

The private hot tubs in our cabins were awesome! And frequently used.

View from Mount Washington

The view from Mount Washington on the Island is probably one of the most beautiful views you will ever see snowboarding. Wow!

Amy and Tom Goggle Faces

Amy and Tom show off their goggles in the bar.

Trev's Teddy Bear Stand

Teddy Bear stands are necessary, even in the snow.

Tequila was present

The tequila was incredible… and yes, many drinking games were played…

Boxhead

… including the now infamous “BOXHEAD” game…

Huge Vat of Pasta

A huge vat of pasta was cooked for dinner, plus a huge breakfast in the morning. Group meals!

Group jumping in Courtenay

We had a great group.

Yet another cool vid-clip, Allie! Are these going to get joined into one big reel (the Project?), or bits and pieces left over from it, oorrrr mini-previews (so the project still has Yet-To-Be-Seen footage)?

Also: before that vid I had no idea of the ’sport’ of leg-wrestling. Seems like body weight and leg strength are key factors… (nevermind the blood-alcohol level. ;) )

Big White was definitely a blast.

  2. Dino-Legs Says:

    Leg wrestling ftw!

  3. Kimm Says:

Great video and photos like always.
    LOL at the leg wrestling.

    Glad you had a blast.

Yeah, I’m feeling a little bit better though the rash likes coming back when I’m stressed. :(

  4. Tyler Says:

Cool leg wrestling! I’ll have to try that!

Allie your videos are amazing! Are they shot with your D90, or with an actual video cam?

I still need to figure out how to take my Canon XSi with the 70-200 lens up with me on the snow!

  5. Jedly Says:

Sweet Vid! You guys had a lot of fun, that’s for sure. Keep up the fun and of course the sweet editing!

  6. mango Says:

So, did you pee your pants? ;)
Fun video!!! I love your trips – they make snow look exciting again!!

  7. Davin Greenwell Says:

There was something surreal about that video, the singing and the leg wrestling in particular. Cool!

  8. Sean Says:

Okay, so I have to admit something. That is the first time I have watched one of your videos. I’m actually pretty impressed, and stayed entertained through the entire thing too. Haha, the leg wrestling is crazy! I’ve never seen that before :P Great job filming on the mountain though – is it all with your D90? Wonderful stills as well, the views look absolutely spectacular!

  9. Tim Z. Says:

Another sweet video.. your crew can really freestyle! As for your group’s apres ski, Journey + impromptu leg wrestling = pure entertainment. I always miss the chance to record classic moments like those during my group trips. It’s good to see other people goofing off in similar ways, cuz that’s half the fun of taking these trips, after all.

I really do hope that you find the time and inspiration to cut a massive 08/09 season video. I’m sure most of your readers would agree.. Rock on!

  10. Tawcan Says:

Good to see my friends and I aren’t the only dumb ones doing the leg wrestling. I see stupidity is spreading, excellent. ;) :p

  11. Lovewine Says:

What a great piece…I’ve never seen leg wrestling before. I guess you’ll be making some surf video this summer.

  12. Amy Burrows Says:

Haha! The fast motion leg wrestling looks awesome. That was so fun. But…someone should tell that girl not to sing anymore. haha.

  13. josh Says:

awesome video! I have yet to make it to mt.washinton but now I really want to check it out. Hopefully this season. Also I had almost forgotten how much I like Pulley – have seen them live, they are good times :)

  14. Michelle Says:

Sounds like SOOOOO much fun! I have never been to Mt Washington and I miss the Okanagan powder :( Glad good times were had

  15. Dan Says:

    Yo Allie,

Awesome video! You are quite the editing wizard yourself… That looked like a ton o’ fun. The leg wrestling was epic, I had quite the laugh! Great tunes, nice work!
