NEW MOON SET: BELLA’S CLIFF DIVE (SPECIAL FX AT OUTDOOR POOL)
Now that Amy and I have been lucky enough to get some photos of the wonderful cast of New Moon, we wanted to check out some of the sets we haven’t had a chance to see yet. Mandy was gracious enough to fill us in on the location of the new pool set. So we headed on down there on a quick dinner break from work.
This set is where they are filming the special effects green screen scene of Bella’s Cliff Dive in La Push in New Moon. Kristen Stewart, Rachelle Lefevre, Taylor Lautner, and Rob Pattinson were all filming at the secret outdoor pool location today (just for the one day).
In this scene, Bella jumps off the cliff, a flash of Victoria is seen in the background, and Bella plunges into the ocean and sees Edward’s “face” underwater. She is then rescued by Jacob.
The crew had set up a complex special effects scene at the public outdoor pool with a number of layered green screens set up high above the pool. They also used a number of cranes and rigs to help block out the direct sunlight (it was bright and hot today).
Security was tight again, and no one could see into the pool, but fans saw Taylor Lautner who came out to sign autographs and take photos. When Amy and I got there, we saw Kristen Stewart walk into the pool set shielded by umbrellas from fans.
Overall it looks like a really cool set! Kudos to the crew for rigging up such a complicated set. My guess would be they filmed some footage in Tofino of the cliffs, and are going to composite it into the water scenes here at the pool.

Hiya chica! Your site is the most informative site I have come across to date! I am not a master “googler” but you have awesome stuff and you and your crew are pretty much in the know. I was wondering if you knew where they are going to be filming after they return from Italy at the end of May?my friend and I want to take a road trip down if possible. Can you maybe provide some insight? I would be most greatful!!

Hey Allie. Thank you so much for all your awesome coverage of your escapades in Vancouver! I just feel obliged to correct you on one thing though – Rob’s surname is Pattinson (you forgot the first ‘n’). Sorry to be really annoying lol, I don’t know if it was a typo or what – anyway, I really enjoy seeing all your photos and your accounts of meeting the stars and I’m so jealous that you live in Vancouver! Can’t wait to see what you find next

Hidey, from TN. VanCity Allie you are the greatest chick of the west. You are so cool to provide all these pics and let us view them. I check everyday for new Twilight info, and I am never disappointed. I can’t wait to see the cliff-diving scene in the movie. Looks like they are going to totally rock. When I tell people that I am a Twilight nerd they look at me like I’m nuts. It’s nice to talk to people who understand my obsession.

i know that doing that part of the movie would be hard but to have it be green screen instead sucks.i mean i would have done it for real i mean it looks very fun to do that.so yeah thats my opinion.dont get me wrong but i still love twilight

Glad they are doing this…and sounds like doing it well. Even though she & Jacob are becoming close the loss of Edward will always linger…. pivotal scene.

hi,i’m kely..the set it’ fantastic….and the actors and the actress are so beautiful…and they paly very well in the film…the film story is very beautiful! i read the 4 book…stephanie meyer is a wonderful writer…i love her..an twilight,new moon and eclipse are fantastic..but my favourite film of the saga it’s breaking dawn…but i’m not old enough to watch it…because maybe the person under 14 or 18 will can’t see it!
