THINGS I NEED TO DO
My work has been absolutely hectic lately for the past two weeks, and it’s only going to get crazier up until the middle of May. On top of that, with social outings with friends, Canucks games, Twilight stalking, surf trips and finishing up my snowboard season… my life has pretty much been on hold.
There’s a few things I’ve been meaning to do lately, so here’s my list — in my photos — of some things I need to get done over the next month or so.
Start heading to the driving range again to get all geared up for the golf season. I started “golfing” a couple years ago, and finally last year started to go more frequently, and I’m hooked.
Start going to the gym more to get all geared up for the summer. I predict we’re going to have a raging hot summer this year and I’m planning on being on the beach a lot more! Especially in Tofino.
Get out my sunglasses and spend more time in the sun.
Get going on my gardening for the year. Now that I’ve got a patio again, I’ll be able to retrieve my planters from my parent’s place and all my flowers, trees, herbs, and vegetables going again. Can’t wait.
Go on more photo walks. Vancouver is so beautiful in the spring and early summer, and walking around and taking photos is ALWAYS a good idea. Must get back into it.
Get all our camping gear prepped and ready for the multiple surf trips coming up, starting in May.
Get geared up for my trip to Montreal in May. I’m attending a conference there for work, but I may have a couple extra hours to walk around. I’m looking forward to taking some photos, as well as making sure I get the most out of the conference.
Finally catch up on my grocery shopping and head to Granville Island frequently again. I’m also looking forward to the new Whole Foods opening up near me on Cambie and Broadway so that’s going to be another regular place. I can’t wait to start cooking and baking again. All this lack of time has really impacted my free time to spend in the kitchen.
Getting my freckles back in the summer and maybe working on a tan (I desperately need it).
Spend one last day on the mountain, with my new Burton Malolo. Heading up to Whistler this Sunday for the end of the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival… for some boarding, as well as meeting up with my favourite snowboard blogger, Shayboarder! We’ll be making a mini movie and I’m looking forward to meeting my hero!
Okay, and maybe a little Twilight stalking if I have some time
And that’s it for now… anyone have plans for the next month they are dead set on doing?

Pretty much everything on your to-do list are on my list too! Can you recommend any good places for driving range in Vancouver? It sucks not having a car.

I always enjoy looking at your photos, even more so when they are not centered around the cast of Twilight!

+1 to Dan. Haha. I love your photography, Allie, you have the most creative eye! Very, very cool photograph for shopping! I totally intend more photowalks as well. It’s so nice at night once it’s warmish.

Looks like a great list, and I hope you’re right about having a hot summer. Love your photography, and since i don’t know anything about Twilight, gotta say I prefer this =D.
I’m happy about whole foods opening but very sad about Capers closing on Cambie. Whole foods is a bit far for me.

Heh, I find it funny that you say that your life is on hold – if you ask me, all the stuff you’re busy with, “..On top of that, with social outings with friends, Canucks games, Twilight stalking, surf trips and finishing up my snowboard season…”, that’s a full life by the pratical definition the word.
Lookin’ forward to your photos of Montreal (get some of the local girls there!
), and seeing your next snowboardin’ movie.
I hope to get oooone more day of snowboarding in, at Whistler, but it’ll have to be past this weekend, as Saturday I go see my dad run a triathalon in my old hometown.

Yeah, it sounds more like just your cooking and tanning and gardening is on hold. I’d say you have a very full life, indeed! I’m excited for the summer!

I’m pretty much the opposite. While still full and busy, my life is focused on getting the last bits of summer I can before our forray into winter and rain.
I have another comedy festival show, a concert, a soccer tournament, one more outdoor music festival, a fun-run and I definitely want to manage a last trip for gelato in the sunshine, a bike ride and beers on a patio before it turns cold anf rainy.

Aww thanks! I’m stoked to meet and ride with you on Sunday!

Although I’ve only hit the range once myself, it felt so good to swing the clubs again. Add in the fact that I was able to watch deer graze (which I haven’t seen in a while in Richmond) while I was doing it made it all the more worthwhile.
Now I just need to find the time to do it again.. and then maybe, find someone to hit the course with.

Yeah! Golf is already in full swing here(pun intended). This will be my 1st time being a member at a course so I’m pretty excited.
In the next month?
golf
fishing
get the ’63 back on the road
mtn. biking
have a big gemini party!
wear shorts everyday…..
shower beer

Right now we’re kinda stuck in between skiing season and climbing season. Once the snow melt off the mountains it’d be full on scrambling/peak bagging season! I can’t wait!

Things to do in Montreal if you’ve only got a few free hours.
1 – Shwartz’s – 3895 St Laurent, Montréal
Don’t ask. Just do. THAT is what Montreal smoked meat
really tastes like.
2 – Vieux Montreal (Old Montreal)
It’s not as pretty as Vieux Quebec, but the cobblestone
streets are nice, and check out Notre Dame.
And, if you can swing it, the Montreal night-life (especially in summertime) lives up to the hype.

Allie is a merciless plant killer. Don’t let her in your garden.
