THINGS WITH WINGS
It’s been a while since I’ve made a post solely dedicated to my photography so here we go. P.S. Snowboarding with Shay post coming soon, photos from Tofino last summer, photos from the romantic Victoria getaway, photos from sprimg in Vancouver, and I also want to do a “scenes” from Twilight featuring some of my photography but it’s going to take a while to collect those together.
I’m actually feeling really terrible today so I need to get back to bed. Thank goodness I prepared this post last night all ready for the morning.
Anyway.
The photographs here are a mix of my old and new shots. I wanted a theme, so I went with “things with wings”. When the sun starts coming out more frequently and we start transitioning into spring and then summer… I really look forward to seeing all the butterflies, birds, and other critters coming out of the woodworks.
These photos taken with a mix of the Nikon D50, D80, D90 and way back when my Olympus C3030Z.
Yellow Butterfly by a Yellow Flower
Hummingbird, Still
Kissing Butterflies
Kookaburra Bird

Thanks for looking! Hope you liked them.

These are incredibly beautiful photos! You do have a real talent! Thanks for sharing them!

Wow the colors on these shots are intense, almost borderline ‘unreal’ (in the sense of it’s more an artistic painting than an actual photo)
I laughed at the “Kissing” Butterflies caption though – the things adults say to the kids to neatly dodge the question of what those two ‘flies are up to.

Beautiful photos, Allie! Though I have to say, close-ups of bees and wasps make me cringe. I have to scroll past them before I look at them for too long!
I also laughed at the “Kissing” Butterflies caption.

Wow Allie those are awesome shots! We should get together for a photowalk so some of your skillz rub off on me! What lenses were you using for those? macro based lenses?
I need to get more colour in my photos I think! lol

This post just whole heartedly backs my knowing that you need to get out on my more photowalks because these are absolutely wonderful. The colours are so lush, and every little detail is captured. A beautiful representation of what our planet is all about. #1,2 & 5 for me!

Can I say double WOW! Those shots are amazing! Did you ever get to contribute your work with National Geographic or something? They could use your talent. You definitely have that artistic eye. Do they pay much though? Thats the question. hahaha I like that pic of the hummingbird (those birds are real “flighty” to get that one good shot)and that photo of kissing butterflies – it got me to start searching if those insects do kiss with their “asses”. haha
