MISSING IN NOT-SO-MUCH ACTION
I realize that I’ve dropped off the face of the planet lately in terms of my blog, and e-mails.
I just wanted to explain to everyone why I haven’t been posting as much lately.
I’ve been going through some skin problems that have been causing me to feel like a bit of a recluse. I’ve been to all sorts of dermatologists, doctors, allergy specialists, counsellors, massage therapists, acupuncture, everything! It’s just a bad case of eczema.
But obviously it is affecting a lot of different aspects of my life, which basically makes it so that I’m staying inside all the time, and therefore have nothing to write about.
It’s made work hard, my relationship hard, maintaining friendships, etc.
Sorry for the sob story. I’m just doing my best to do everything I can to get rid of it, including the current allergy elimination diet that I am on. It leaves me feeling weak, dizzy, and really out of sorts.
I’m going to Tofino this weekend, so hopefully some waves and some fresh ocean air will bring me the peace I am looking for.
Anyway… sorry. I’ll do my best to update the blog, but over the next couple weeks it might be light. Sorry everyone.

Getting way from the city usually makes things better. At least for me! Just sit back and chill, things’ll start looking up.

I used to have some insufferable outbreaks of eczema when I was younger. There’s a whole slew of creams out there that you’ve probably tried, that may or may not work. On the more holistic side, rubbing the area with a ginseng root then applying aloe vera gel might work as well.
Good luck with getting this under control, and yes, any excuse to catch up on reading is usually worthwhile.

That’s why I see you playing Fable 2 a lot. Good luck getting through this. You need more food towers too!

You might try googling the news article for “bleach bath and eczema”…you might find that to give you some relief from the eczema. Keep up the elimination diet. The icky feeling you are getting right now is that your body is probably having a lot of detoxing and also yeast die-off. When the yeast that live in the GI tract die off, then they release toxins that will make you feel that way. Stick with it though and it will get better. You might also investigate whether or not there is a viral component to your eczema. You might use some antivirals like olive leaf extract to see if that will help. Also digestive enzymes can help, too. Good luck.

Bleach bath worked for my daughter and me(eczema), and helped my husband (psoriasis). Can’t hurt to try. When your literally uncomfortable in your own skin it can make you miserable.
Good luck!

I feel for ya Allie. Cos I’ve been there. Accupuncture did work a bit for me, but in the end, I had to take some meds.
Enjoy Tofino.
PS. I got your back

hey allie i’m sorry to hear about that. i went through a very bad bought of eczema type rashes on my face a couple of years ago and my face was extremely red, itchy adn sensitive. I didn’t know why it happened but my skin flares up occasionally – sometimes due to stress, diet, and changes in weather. Scratching makes it really bad, and i was reacting to every kind of cream/product out there. I ended up going on a cleanse diet and taking some herbal medicines and it cleared up. I still get eczema attacks occasionally but never as bad as that time.
hope you get better soon

Hope you feel better soon. I’m here to offer yet another remedy for eczema. This worked really well for my niece, nephew and my youngest son. We used Desitin, the diaper rash ointment on their skin, including their faces. Its available over the counter and is inexpensive. Its soothing and relieves really itchy, dry skin. My only advice is to use just a little on dry skin, since its thick and will leave your skin pasty white if you use too much at once or on wet/damp skin.
Good luck and hope you enjoy Tofino.

Hey Allie, I hope you feel better. I am sending good vibes and get well vibes all the way from Yaletown. Seriously like everyone has said you don’t need to apologize, your health is way more important than keeping your blog up to date
Staying inside and all that must be difficult. Take this time to rest up and re-energize your fine self.
Get well soon buddy!

Sorry to hear that Allie. Hope you’ll feel better soon! In the meantime, remember that alcohol is an excellent disinfectant agent against all kinds of ailments, and I do believe that the preferred delivery method is by means of oral ingestion.

Hey! I read your blog when you posted it and you stayed on my mind. Last week the lady who’s kids I watch came home with this weird container of yellowish stuff, she saw I looked at it weird and told me she had really bad eczema and someone recommended to her she use all natural shea butter. It was like the actual butter not a cream or lotion, it looked like butter. She said she got it at an all natural store.
IDK if you’ve tried it, but if not its worth a shot no?
Hope everything works out for you! Have fun on your vacations!
