WE BOOKED OUR DREAM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS: JONETSU!
I am absolutely THRILLED to finally announce that we have selected our dream wedding photographers… Jonetsu Photography!
The past few weeks, Allan and I have been on a thorough search for the best possible photographers to photograph our special day. We weren’t able to find the level of quality we were looking for in Tofino, so we decided to look for Vancouver wedding photographers. We looked through about 60 different wedding photographers in Vancouver, and narrowed it down to just a couple choices.

After a couple in-depth meetings, I am proud to say we were able to secure Jonetsu! We really clicked with Camille and Chadwick. Not only are they beautiful, authentic people… but they have great energy and you can tell they are really in love with each other. They really have a connection with nature and I honestly can’t imagine anyone else shooting our day. We love their epic “dreamscapes” and attention to detail with telling a story in their albums. Not to mention they are so similar to us in so many ways. They are extremely accessible too since they are based here in Vancouver and they get back to us with e-mails faster than any other photographer we have dealt with — this is actually a very important part of the selection.

Thanks to everyone who recommended us to them on Twitter. I can’t believe how many of our favourite couples have been photographed by them, and the reviews they have all given me of Jonetsu have been beyond glowing. I think we will be good friends with Camille and Chadwick for a long, long time
Yesterday we signed the contract and I am just giddy with excitement that we were able to get them! I can’t believe it! WOOOOHOOOOOOOO!

Camille and Chadwick will be shooting our wedding in Tofino, as well as our engagement shoot in Vancouver and a boudoir/saucy cat session that will be my wedding present to Allan! Can’t wait. We will of course be posting some of the photos on the blog here. Thanks to everyone for all your advice and help with planning this wedding so far… I couldn’t do it without you!

You can follow Jonetsu on their website here, their Twitter or their awesome blog!
Here’s a question for you… can you recommend any cool places in Vancouver for Allan and I to do our engagement shoot? Any ideas for cool shots that we could do that involve surfboards/snowboards/bikes/golf etc?
What do you think of Jonetsu’s photos?

Wow, those are amazingly gorgeous photos – you guys made a great choice!

I’m sooo glad you chose Jonetsu – they did a fab job of my wedding and i always tell people it’s the best money we spent aside from my wedding dress (lol). They are very warm and friendly people and we never felt awkward with them. I always tell people to splurge on photography b/c after the wedding, that’s all you’re left with (besides each other!). Camille’s skills have improved dramatically too since she shot Rob and I 6 years ago and I was actually jealous of my friend who had Camille do her wedding 2 years ago b/c her photos were that much better.

Love the top photo. I’ve got my fair share of weddings to attend this year and I’ve had to go through the whole “who will photograph my wedding” issue with each of my bride girlfriends. Not an easy decision to make!

I think the photos are a little over-stylized. They may not hold up 10 years down the road.

Hey Jordy, thanks for your comment! I definitely think it’s an important point. I’ve actually picked the MOST stylized images off their website… if you check out their site they are more photojournalistic. I just happen to like the stylized images the best… I really hope we are able to create some “fanciful” scenes when we are out in Tofino… the place really is magic to us.
That being said, about 6 couples I am friends with have used them, and some of them more than 7 years ago! And they still rave about their images and Camille and Chadwick to me… so I know they are still treasuring them years later
I think everyone needs to pick a photographer based on their personal style… and Jonetsu definitely is the best fit for us! We are so excited!

I’m sure you’ll be very happy with your wedding pics. They look amazing on the website.
I do portrait photography most of the time now here are some locations I really like. But then they might not suitable for engagement shots…
Kits/Jericho Beach – I like Jericho Beach better b/c way less people
Granville Island – I know that’s one of your favourite spots in Vancouver.
False Creek seawall
Lighthouse Park in West Van.
Sunset Beach by UBC

Sorry for going off topic, but some time back I read about you Buggo joining the evil M$ Empire, yet I have heard no further reports about how everyday life is there?
Maybe I have missed some?

I’d recommend Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver. It’s Vancouver’s gateway to the Strait and well, I think you guys kinda like the ocean
Waves crashing on rocks, silhouette of the city in the background, old-growth forest…

That’s a great idea Rebecca! THANKS!

Chose the nature. The pictures are amazing

Definitely a great choice for photographers. I’m running their photo viewer in the background at work just to hear the music on the site because it’s that good.
These guys have talent, and a good eye for capturing the small and big moments. Like Liv said, after it is all done, photos are how you remember most of it because to you the day will probably go by in a blur. Mine did and I’m glad I paid for a good photographer.
