WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT SUMMER?
It’s a gorgeous, sunny day today in Vancouver… and even though it’s been “June-uary” (January+June) here on the West Coast as usual, I’m just about ready for summer and I know it must be around the corner somewhere!
Next Friday we’ll be leaving for our annual surf trip to Tofino for 11 days and we could not be more excited. 11 days of surfing, beach, camping, camp stove cooking, crabbing and exploring. Wohooo!
I’m starting to get in the mood for summer so here are a couple things I love about summer… What do you love about summer?
Surfing.. (Minus the bikini and adding a 5 mm wetsuit in Tofino)
Camping!
Playing on the beach…
Skimboarding!
A trip to Hornby Island…
Making mojitos and summer drinks… not to mention the availability of our favourite rums at the liquor store!
Golfing!
Continuing to learn how to downhill mountain bike…
Mmmm.. summer BBQs…
Hosting patio parties….
Wearing sunglasses!
The sun on my feet…
What do you love about summer?

Sun on feet is one of my favourite things too! I’m looking forward to camping, our annual summer trip to Whistler, and a week on the beach in Oregon with friends.

Very cool pics!
I visited Van in August one year and there was a 20 degree drop between Van and Victoria and I didn’t have enough clothes when the ferry docked, so I can image how chilly June-uary is.
How do y’all get to Tofino from Van — sea plane or ferry?

Christine… sounds like so much fun!
Heather… thanks! We always go by ferry. I WISH we could afford the sea plane!

I will agree with all of the above, and throw in music festivals, sand in my hair, summer dresses and warm evenings with melting ice cream on the seawall for good measure.

I’m looking forward to more time outside in the sun, and learning to fly my new stunt kite (I swear I’ll get time to take it to Vanier park when it’s sunny and breezing)
There’s also my trip to CANNON BEACH in August! Beyond that it’ll be a busy work-filled summer (no rest for the wicked.)
Oh, another perk of summer for me is that the girls come out to play in the sunshine instead of being buried in thick heavy winter jackets.

Look at those little feets!

I’m faster telling what I don’t like: The insects that I hate and sometimes when the heat is too much, but the Summer is my perfect time of the year and my favourite season!
Love!

The sun anywhere would be nice right about now. We too are suffering with this weather. Then again I guess it beats tornadoes and hurricanes.
Can’t wait to hike in something other than mud!

Water. Any water.
Ponds, lakes, rivers – the ocean.
Oh, I’m also a fan of being able to leave work without feeling instantly lethargic. Dark before you get home? Lame.
