AUTUMN
Monday, September 13th, 2010It’s certainly been a while since I’ve made my last blog update! The end of the summer has been crazy, full of weddings, trips, new sports and activities, getting sick, and vacation. I apologize for the long delay in updates! I thought I’d write a short one today and hopefully catch up on posts over the next couple weeks as I get a chance to edit photos and pull some thoughts together.
Fall is probably my least favourite season… at least, the months of September and October are. I have to admit, I do like it when the leaves start to change colour… but September and October as a whole, I’m not a huge fan of.
The problem, is that those months are “in between” months.
It starts to get cold, and surf trips to Tofino are harder to pull together.
There’s still no snowboarding in September and October.
The Vancouver Canucks hockey season hasn’t started yet.
It’s often cold and rainy in Vancouver.
This year has been particularly hard too, with saving money for the wedding… we haven’t done as many trips as we normally would do, or as many activities.
To keep myself from going stir crazy during these months, I’ve joined a dodgeball league (LOL), started playing ice hockey on a more regular basis, and made more time with friends to hang out. I’ve also started reading more again, and just finished A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin over the weekend. Nothing better than curling up on a couch and reading when it gets cold. I gotta tell you, I really can’t wait for the HBO TV series of “A Game of Thrones” to start next year. It’s going to be fantastic.
So what is a girl in Vancouver supposed to keep herself busy with in these months? Give me some ideas!
