It appears that Google has acquired/bought Feedburner. For those of you who currently use Feedburner, you’ll be forced to migrate all your feeds over to Google now once you login. But be careful!

There are numerous reports saying people who have migrated their feeds over have lost subscribers. Most of the reports say a loss of about 200-300 subscribers, but one individual reports a loss of over 50,000 subscribers! Wow.

It seems Google has really dropped the ball on this one, without much support or resolution options to FeedBurner users.

So, please make sure your RSS feed of my blog is up to date. If you haven’t yet subscribed to my blog, you can do so at http://feeds2.feedburner.com/VancityAllie.

In other news, yesterday I was on Virgin Radio 95.3 with Buzz Bishop and KJ talking about haggling for better deals in this recession. It was really cheesy and I was pretty nervous, so I’m still debating whether or not I want to put a copy up here on the blog.

Still working on the snowboarding videos, and I also realized I still haven’t posted pictures from my Victoria trip or some of the projects I’ve been working on in the new apartment. So I’ll be sure to do that soon.

P.S. The new job is going well, I’m really liking it! If anyone works at a company with a crappy intranet or needs collaboration software let me know. I’d love to hook you up with a demo of our product

Usually I’m ahead of the curve when it comes to technology and new media… blogging, video games, ICQ, MSN, GMail, torrents, photo blogs, IRC, gadgets etc..

But this time I’m catching up… because I’m waaaaay behind… on Twitter. One of the companies I am interviewing with has using Twitter as part of the job description, so I thought maybe I’d get a head start by spending some time exploring the service.

I do have a question for you Twitter veterans… what are the advantages/disadvantages of making your Twitter feed private?

I had resisted Twitter for so long because I was worried it would consume all the time I usually set aside for blogging. So far I’m really enjoying it. It seems to me that Twitter can potentially take away from blogging time, or even the need to blog. What do you think?
