CLUB BUD PRIVATE BURTON PARTY

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

At Club Bud

Tonight I got to attend the Club Bud private Burton party with Allan at the Commodore Ballroom.

Club Bud's Burton Party Inside Club Bud

As many of you know, I’m a huge Burton fan so it was a dream come true to see some of the snowboarders! The inside of Club Bud is really neat, and it has completely transformed from the Commodore Ballroom into a pretty awesome party venue.

Craziness inside Club Bud

The inside is pretty amazing. It’s totally ice and winter everywhere, with lots of good looking people and sexy dancers.

Gretchen Bleiler

We got to hang out on the red carpet and snap some pics of the athletes and celebrities coming into the party, along with Miss604 and Keira. My absolutely FAVOURITE athlete to see was Gretchen Bleiler. How cool is that! I’ve seen tons of her snowboarding movies, so I was totally fangirling over her. She is gorgeous!

Vernon Davis Lindsey Jacobellis Chris Spencer Graham Watanabe Carl Lewis Bonnie Blair Elijah Teter Mike Jankowski

Also present were Vernon Davis (Curling/football), Lindsey Jacobellis (SBX), Chris Spencer (football), Graham Watanabe (snowboarding), Carl Lewis (major Olympian, wow!), Bonnie Blair (figure skater), Elijah Teter (boarder and Hannah’s brother) and Mike Jankowski (snowboarding coach).

Seth Wescott

It was also pretty neat to see Seth Wescott after winning his gold medal…

Johnny Weir

… and Johnny Weir! Haha. He definitely made a big splash on the red carpet with his outfit.

Allan's got a Bud Club Bud from the top

The venue was really fun and Allan and I had a great time.

Want a Bud?

Not to mention it was completely open bar!

Cool Snowboard Art Snowboard Art Paintings

Totally loved the snowboards with the art painting going on.

Crazy amounts of people on Granville

It was absolutely NUTS outside on Granville Street… there was a huge lineup to get into Club Bud (even with invite-only tickets) and just the general insanity of the crowd.

An extremely fun night, and I can’t wait to go back to Club Bud tomorrow for the NHL party! :)

SNOWBOARDING AND HOCKEY AT APEX MOUNTAIN

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Are you looking for my Olympic ticket giveaway? If so, you can find it here, just one post below this one. Also, don’t forget you can follow me on Twitter along with more than 3,000 other friends for Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games coverage and my West Coast tweets of course.

Just a quick post here on our last weekend before the Olympics start in Vancouver. We headed up to Apex Mountain (near Penticton, BC) for Allan’s outdoor ice hockey tournament with his team, as well as for snowboarding and fun! There’s so much to explore in BC outside of Vancouver… if you’re in town visiting, I highly recommend you check out other parts of our beautiful province of British Columbia!

Me finding pow in the trees

Here I am snowboarding in the trees in the powder. We got so lucky with the conditions… it snowed all week and then dropped 15 cm of light fluffy BC interior powder the night before. Yep, we pretty much rode trees in the bowls on the backside of the mountain all day.

It's a beautiful day for driving to Apex.. the sun, blue sky, the mountains.. Beautiful BC!

It was a beautiful drive up to Apex.

Apex on a beautiful morning

Every morning we woke up there is looked like this… gorgeous blue skies and lots of snow.

Fantastic conditions

The snow was fantastic. (Yep, I’m actually in this picture although very, very far away)

Outdoor hockey!

I loved watching the boys play outdoor hockey. We don’t really ever get to see that in Vancouver, and it’s such a part of our Canadian heritage and culture! Definitely got me even MORE stoked for the Olympics if that is even possible.

Mmmmm breakfast...

We made breakfast a few mornings… lots of sustenance for the day! Can’t live without BACON!

A surprise we left on a friend's car

We left a little surprise on a friend’s car.

The Boys' Hockey Team

Here’s the boys’ hockey team. They lost two games but won their last one, and they definitely played hard (although drunk). So much fun to watch… I love these guys!

People already all lined up for Olympics Opening Ceremony Dress Rehearsals! It's beginning! Woooo!

View from my office window above. What can you expect from my blog in the upcoming weeks? Well, lots of Olympic coverage… definitely from the games/events/pavilions I am attending (see below) and tons of photos and HD video. I’ll be all decked out cheering Canada on as loud as I can, and I’ll be wearing my Canadian pride on my sleeve (and well, my face with tattoos).

GO CANADA GO!

P.S. I’m currently deciding what I should do… should I buy myself a ticket to the Men’s Gold Medal Hockey game? Each ticket is now over $2,200 and it’s a big expenditure… argh… help! What would you do?
